Christianity & Neopaganism

Christianity believes in one ultimate God, who made the universe, earth, and created man in his own likeness. Worshippers of this religion have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, “by whom we are forgiven of our sins and escape the righteous judgment of God” (Slick, 2009).  One strives to live without sin, to give yourself to God. If one indulges in sin, they have to repent for it in order to seek forgiveness (Slick, 2009).
Neopaganism is a term to describe modern Pagans, which itself is a umbrella term for a wide scope of beliefs but it excludes Christianity. Aspects of Neopaganism consists of polytheism- belief in multiple gods, transcendence-  gods/goddess are apart of our world, connection to ancestors, reverence of nature- respect for earth and her creatures, and belief in sprits - manifestations of spirits that are free roaming.
There are two main aspects that I will narrow in on within Charmed, linking them to Christianity and Neopaganism, which are beliefs and texts. They are illustrated within the show through moments that both parallel and diverge from these religions.
